Top 5 Non-Horror Halloween Movies!

I love Halloween movies! I’m also a big scaredy-cat. So, when I saw Anna @ The Bursting Bookshelf’s prompt for Blogoween, I just new I had to participate. Today’s topic is my Top 5 Non-Horror Halloween Movies!
Okay, here we go!
Halloweentown
First up on my list is, in my opinion, a Halloween classic! It’s just not Halloween unless I watch Halloweentown. This Disney Channel Original Movie is about a 13 year old girl who finds out she secretly comes from a family of witches. It’s super festive, super fun, and definitely not horror, lol.
Also, just so you know, all 4 movies in the series, along with all the other Halloween themed DCOM’s throughout the years are available to watch for free on the Disney website!
Tower of Terror
Tower of Terror is such an underrated movie! It’s about a haunted hotel that caused a Shirley Temple-like little girl from the 1930s, to mysteriously disappear, and now, 60 years later, a photojournalist and his niece search for the truth. This movie is so much fun and I don’t get why it’s not played on Freeform or Disney Channel anymore, because it is actually a really good movie!
The Haunting Hour: Don’t Think About It
The Haunting Hour is such a fun and spooky movie. It stars Emily Osment, and it’s about a goth girl who comes into possession of a mysterious book and accidentally releases a monster. It’s classic R. L. Stine. I admit, it was released in 2007 or 2008, and it tried to fit in with the trends of the time, so it’s a little dated at this point, haha, but it’s still such a fun one!
Mom’s Got a Date with A Vampire
Okay y’all, because I’m a wimp it’s becoming glaringly obvious that I only watch children’s movies at Halloween time. 😂 This is another Disney Channel movie, and the title of it gives away the plot. Desperate to get his mom out on a date so he can sneak off to a concert, a 13 year old boy unknowingly arranges a date for his mom with a vampire and trouble ensues. This movie is so fun and enjoyable! You can also watch this one on the Disney website, too!
Something Wicked This Way Comes
Based off of the book by Ray Bradbury, Something Wicked This Way Comes is so spooky and atmospheric! I recently rewatched this movie for the first time in years, and it was so good!
Honorable Mention: Hocus Pocus
I know I’ve already listed 5 movies, but I just had to list one more. Hocus Pocus is another Halloween classic. I know everyone loves this movie, which is why it didn’t make my top 5, but this one really is so festive and iconic, I had to include it!
I hope you all enjoyed reading about some of my favorite Halloween movies! I’d love to hear some of yours!
Thanks for reading!
These look like pretty fun Halloween-ish films, I haven’t seen any of them but will definitely keep an eye out.

Ahh you really must get a chance to watch Hocus Pocus sometime! I agree, though, Coraline would make an excellent choice, too. I saw it for the first time last Halloween, and I loved it!

Because I’m also very easily scared, all of my favourite Halloween movies are from Disney channel. xD Curiously, I’ve never watched Hocus Pocus (maybe this year). But I love Halloweentown, Twitches and Girl vs Monsters. ❤ Great list!

Haha yes! I’m the same way! I still remember when I was little and rushing to the TV as my sister shouts “It’s starting!!” We’d always eat pumpkin ice cream and watch them! ☺️
