March Wrap-Up!
March was not a very good reading month for me. Basically, I’ve been in a reading slump since the end of February! Because of that, I only read two books this month.

– I am almost done with 1984 by George Orwell though (ideally, I’d like to finish it tonight), and I’m about halfway through A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas.

BOOK HAUL
This may not have been my best month for reading, but I did buy some really great books this month!
First, I got Confessions: The Private School Murders by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro at Barnes and Noble. 
Then, I went to my library’s spring book sale, and came home with a whole stack of books.
From top to bottom: Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury, Finding Noel by Richard Paul Evans, Poison Study by Maria V. Snyder, 3 Willows by Ann Brashares, How Mrs. Claus Saved Christmas by Jeff Guinn, Queen of Babble in the Big City by Meg Cabot
I also got the beautiful Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo for my birthday that was Tuesday!
Plus, I received a free review ebook for Wink Poppy Midnight!

the calico books 
I find the best way for me to get out of a reading slump is to read a light, funny contemporary book. That’s my method at least!

I’ve been meaning to read 1984! I had it in my hands at the bookstore but put it down at the counter as I already had a heap of book 🙂
To get out of a slump I read contemporary’s as well the more fluff the better or I re-read an old favorite 🙂 I find if I read to many high fantasies in a row my head gets out of wack and I need a simple and happy read to get me back on track.

I definitely plan on reading a contemporary book next. I think reading a fantasy book (A Court of Thorns and Roses) when I wasn’t really in the mood for fantasy, was what got me in my reading slump in the first place. Thanks for the tips! 🙂

I’m so glad you enjoyed Wink. Poppy. Midnight! I read Tucholke’s debut a while back and didn’t exactly love it, so I was contemplating reading this one. Great post, by the way!

Thank you! I hadn’t read Tucholke’s first book (to be honest, I’d never even heard of it), so I didn’t know what to expect. I hope if you decide to read this one, you’ll enjoy it better than her first! 🙂
