What I Thought
Going into this book, I didn’t know much about it. However, it was free, and everyone on Bookstagram/the blogs I follow are in love with this book, so I thought I would give it a try. I was not disappointed!
This review will probably be a bit shorter than usual, because Never Never is one of those books where it’s better if you know nothing about it. I went into reading it that way, and I am so glad I did! This book was so mysterious, and I had absolutely no idea what was going to happen. It ended on the perfect type of cliffhanger, and I desperately need to read part 2 very soon!
The characters in this book felt so real. Charlie and Silas were very intriguing, well-rounded characters. I also loved their siblings. I hope they will play more prominent roles in parts 2 and 3.
My only issue I had with this book was the sexual content. I realize that Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher are usually New Adult writers, and so their books sometimes feature more mature themes (especially Tarryn Fisher; most of Colleen Hoover’s books are usually not too sexual based off what I’ve read/heard from others), that being said this book is being labeled as a young adult book. Some of the content in this book, while not explicit, seemed a bit too inappropriate for a YA book. Speaking for me personally, I’d say I’m a fairly… modest person. Had I been, say fifteen or sixteen, when I read Never Never, I think I would have been super embarrassed and a bit uncomfortable reading this book, which is a shame, because the actual story is amazing.
Overall, Never Never is a really intriguing, mysterious read. It is probably one of the best mystery stories that I have read in a while. It’s quite short also, so that makes it a very quick read. If you can get past the sexual content, or if stuff like that doesn’t bother you, I would definitely recommend this book to older teens and/or anyone looking for a fresh, fast-paced mystery.
I loved NEVER, NEVER.
I actually need to read the last part but the paperback prince is a little too expensive for a book of 100 and something pages, so I’m still waiting.

Yeah! I can’t wait to read parts 2 and 3! The ebook price is only $2.99, it’s hard to spend a lot on a book that is pretty tiny, so I’m going to have to stick with the ebook editions for this series. ☺️

I know how that is! I’ve read some super popular, well-loved books before, that I really didn’t enjoy. It’s always tough because if it seems like everybody loves them you want to love them too, and then when you don’t, it’s super disappointing! 🙈 I would definitely recommend giving Never Never a try though, especially since part one is only $2.99 for Kindle and Nook. ☺️
