Top Ten Favorite Christian Fiction + “The Rebellion” Cover Reveal!
Hey everyone! It’s Top Ten Tuesday again, a weekly bookish list hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl! Not only that, but last night the cover art went live for The Rebellion by Livy Jarmusch, and as a member of the launch team, I thought it looked so amazing, I wanted to share it with you! This week’s TTT topic was a freebie, meaning we could go with anything we wanted. So, in keeping with The Rebellion, I’ve decided to go with:
Favorite Christian Fiction Books
I’m going to start with TTT, and then at the end of this post, I’ll share the cover! Alright, let’s get started:
House of Dark Shadows
House of Dark Shadows is Book 1 in the Dreamhouse Kings series. This series is one of my favorites! It’s so unique, action-packed, and just one of those books you cannot put down. I think I rated all six books 5 Stars; it’s that good!
The Christy Miller series
If you know anything about Christian fiction, you know I just had to include this one on my list. The Christy Miller series is a Christian YA classic. It is a series filled with great characters, great writing, and it’s just one that’s not easily forgotten!
Black
The first in a 4 book series, Black is such a gripping read! This series alternates between two different realities, and it is just so well-done.
Angel Eyes
I read this series last year, and y’all, I just loved it so much!! It’s got mystery, angels, ballet, and romance, and the entire series was just so good! In my opinion, it’s so underrated, and so you can bet I’ll talk about these books any chance I get.
Winnie the Horse Gentler series
This middle grade series is another of my favorites. Winnie and her friends are such relatable characters. Even though I haven’t read these books in years, I honestly, still think about them and the characters so much.
Motorcycles, Sushi, & One Strange Book
This was such a fun book, even though it dealt with some pretty heavy and realistic issues. It’s been a couple years since I read it, but it’s one that, I think, will really encourage people to keep on hoping.
Hangman’s Curse
I love Hangman’s Curse! This book is quite scary and intense at times, but it is oh so good! There’s also a movie for it, starring a teenage Leighton Meester, that, unlike a lot of Christian movies, is actually really good and not cheesy!
Bad Connection
Melody Carlson has written so many Christian books, but this book of hers has been my favorite, by far! It includes some pretty intense topics, but it has a really great mystery, and I am looking forward to continuing this series!
Marvelous
This is probably one of the most underrated book series that I have read. I still need to read the last two books, but the first two were phenomenal. I read Marvelous so quickly, and I’m so excited to finish this series. It is another great mystery with great characters!
Also, can we just appreciate how gorgeous and unique the covers for this series are?!
The Coronation
Last but not least, I had to include The Coronation by Livy Jarmusch! This book is so much fun, and so much more than you think. There are so many incredible, memorable characters, and The Coronation is filled with so much wit and charm.
Now, speaking of The Coronation, it’s time to share the cover for book 2 in the series, The Rebellion!

TADA!
Isn’t it so gorgeous!? I feel like it compliments The Coronation so well, too. The Rebellion comes out May 8th, and you guys are NOT going to want to miss it. I’ll share my review with you all closer to the release date, but let me just say, this book was so good!!

I don’t know a whole lot about Christian fiction, to be completely honest. Or, well, much of anything! What are the criteria a book must fit to become Christian Fiction? So curious!

Haha that’s ok! I feel like it’s one of those genres that you don’t really hear about, unless you’re specifically looking. For a book to fit in the the Christian fiction genre, there’s usually talk about faith and God to some extent. Some are more faith-based than others, while some just leave more of a message hope. For the most part, they also stay clear of fowl language, and if they deal with heavy topics, they’re usually not quite as graphic in their descriptions. ☺️

That’s really interesting! Thanks for giving me a quick synopsis. For someone who isn’t Christian, but is interested in exploring the genre, where would you recommend I start? 😉

Honestly, any of the books on here would be a pretty good place! I especially recommend House of Dark Shadows, Black, and Angel Eyes. I feel like the Christy Miller series represents teen Christian fiction really well, too. Also, I haven’t read it, but I know so many people also love Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. ☺️
