December TBR + Tistheseasonathon & Classicsathon TBRs!

December TBR.png

Hello everyone!  I am so excited for the books I plan on reading this month! Christmas is my favorite time of year, and so December is going to be filled with holiday-themed reads.  I’ve also decided to participate in the ‘TisTheSeasonAthon – which starts today, December 3rd, and runs through the 9th – and the ClassicsAThon, which runs through the entire month of December.  Because everything was starting all around the same time, I decided to create one big TBR post!

So, starting things off, here’s my TBR for for the ClassicsAThon:

Classicsathon

Here are the challenges:

Challenge One: Read at least one classic during the month [Free choice]

For this challenge, I’m going to double up and just use one of the other books below.  Realistically, I know I won’t be able to read four classics this month!

Challenge Two: Read a book that features or reminds you of Christmas

a vintage christmas

I recently discovered this book at Target, and just had to get it!  It is filled with Christmas-themed short stories and poems from several different authors, including LM Montgomery, Charles Dickens, Lousia May Alcott, and more!

Challenge Three: Read a children’s classic

the life and adventures of santa

This is a book that I’ve been meaning to read for a couple Christmases now!  It’s from the author of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and it looks like such a cozy and festive story!

Challenge Four: Read a book that has been translated into your native language.

count of monte cristo

Yup, I’m still reading this one! 🙈😂  I’ve really enjoyed The Count of Monte Cristo so far, but, I’ll be honest, this book has kind of been pushed to the wayside lately.  I’d really love to finish it up by the end of the year though and see how this beast of a book ends!

Up next is my TBR for the ‘Tistheseasonathon:

‘Tistheseasonathon

Challenge One: Read a book with red or green on the cover.

Challenge Four: Read a short book (200-250 pages)

christmas remedy

Basically, I could count The Christmas Remedy for all the challenges.  I’d like to try and read more than one book this week, though, so I’m only combining challenges 1 & 4, for this one, lol!

Challenge Two: Read a book while listening to holiday music.

Silent Days, Holy Night practically has the words to a Christmas song already in the title!  So, I decided this would be the perfect book to read while listening to Christmas music.

Challenge Three: Read a warm & fuzzy book

Challenge Five: Read a holiday themed book

Donna VanLiere’s books are so perfect for Christmas and they always give you that warm and fuzzy feeling.  I’m sure The Christmas Secret will be no exception!

Extra/Bonus Challenge: Read the Buddy Read, Snow in Love.

I’d also love to be able to get to Snow in Love as well!  I have the book on hold at the library, but I’m not sure if it’ll be in by the end of the readathon, though.  So, that one may end up being read later in the month after all.

And as if those weren’t enough books, here’s some of the other books I’d love to get to by the end of December:

December TBR

A Nancy Drew Christmas

I’ve been hearing really good things about A Nancy Drew Christmas, so I just couldn’t say no to this book!!  It looks like it’ll be such a fun read!

The Christmas Wish

the christmas wish

I picked up The Christmas Wish a while back at a library book sale, and I’ve been waiting for Christmas time to read this one.  It looks like it’ll be one of those cozy Christmas books I read on a snowy, lazy Saturday!

The Mischief of the Mistletoe

the mischief of the mistletoe

The Mischief of the Mistletoe is another book I picked up at a book sale.  I really don’t know much about this one, but it sounded fun and Christmas-y, and I’m excited to give this one a try!

And that wraps up some of the books I’d like to read this December!  If you know me, these TBRs seem pretty unrealistic, especially since I barely read 2 books last month, lol, but hey, Christmas is the time for miracles, right? 😉😂

What are some of the books on your December TBR? Are you participating in any readathons?

Thanks for reading and please wish me luck!! haha 🙂
