What I Thought

If you follow me on Twitter or my Instagram, you’ve probably seen me gushing about this series the past few weeks. Angel Eyes is one of those books that has been on my TBR for so long.  I first discovered this series a few years ago when I was browsing Lifeway.  The premise seemed intriguing, so I bought the book, but it was one that I just never got around to.  Then, last fall, the author of of Angel Eyes was hosting a giveway of all 3 books, and I won!  And now, I finally got around to reading them, and I don’t know what took me so long, but I’m so glad I’ve finally read this series!

The story line for Angel Eyes is just so good!  It’s so mysterious, and perfectly paced.  I loved how things weren’t quite what I expected.  This book is different than most paranormal romances.

I loved all the characters as well!  There was such a variety, and all of them brought a little something special to the story.  Another thing I loved was that the author wasn’t afraid to poke fun at her characters.  The little jokes and references about other paranormal books was so cute and fun.  Also, the fact that Brielle exclaims (does that make sense? lol) in Peter Pan characters…absolutely perfect!  I also loved the way that dance was portrayed.  For Brielle, it was so much more than just movement; it was a part of her soul.  When she danced, it felt very personal, and as someone who is a ballet dancer as well, I could really relate to how she felt.

And then there’s Jake and Brielle’s relationship. 😍 Heart eyes all around for those two! I just loved how supportive and encouraging they were of each other. Jake was such a great guy and just so perfect for Brielle. A+++ 

I also really loved the Christian content in this novel. As a Christian, I found it really encouraging for my walk with God, but it was done in such a way where if a nonbeliever read this book, it doesn’t come off as preachy. That’s something that can be really difficult to do, but Shannon Dittemore did it flawlessly!

This book also deals with very important topics that need to be talked about more, including human trafficking. This is a really serious issue that happens in places where you least expect it. I really applaud the author for including these issues.  

Overall, I loved this book! There were parts that were so fun, and then there were parts that were so intense. I would definitely recommend this book to anybody looking for a good story, but especially to those who are fans of supernatural stories involving angels and demons.
