Regal Reads Blog Tour | If I Were Trapped in a Disney Movie for a Day + Regal Hearts Season One Review

Hey everyone!  Today I’m participating in the blog tour, Regal Reads, in honor of Regal Hearts: Season One being released in paperback! I’m super excited about this post today, because not only am I sharing an extra book review this week, but I also get to be a little extra creative.  The lovely Livy Jarmusch came up with some super creative tour ideas, and they were all so fun and imaginative! I just had to write and share with you all the things I would do if I were trapped in a Disney movie for a day.  So, without further ado, let’s get on with it!

So, like many of you, I love Disney movies!  They’re such fun and so magical.  Plus, they’re filled with incredibly catchy songs that you will have stuck in your head for literally years.  Please tell me I’m not the only one still singing Let it Go!

So, if I were suddenly trapped in a Disney movie for a day, what would I do?  Well, first of all, I’m hoping this means that I get to be a Disney princess, and not an evil villain or some obscure side character.  For all intents and purposes, I’m going to say I get to be a princess for this day. 😉

👑 First of all, I’m going to be excited that I have a great singing voice!  In real life, I love to sing – even though I can’t sing very well.  So, it would be nice to be able to dance and sing [well], as well as have everybody know the words and choreography and know just the right time to come in during the chorus.  Seriously though, how fun would that be if people really broke out into song and dance?!  Honestly, that is at the top of my list!

👑 Next, I would love to have an animal sidekick! I love animals, and have several pets, but how cool would it be to have one that actually chooses to follow you around all the time and maybe even give you advice? 😂 Also, if I made my animal sidekick clothes, they might actually be excited to wear them, like the mice from Cinderella, instead of just tipping over like my animals do in real life. 🙈

👑 Can I hang out with other Disney characters on this day of mine? I’m going to say yes! So, I’d love to just hang out, meet all the different characters, and just explore everywhere and everything. I’d love to read and talk books with Belle, go sailing with Moana, hug Olaf (carefully, so I don’t melt him 😉), pet and cuddle all the Aristocats, explore Wonderland with Alice, and go swimming with Flounder, just to name a few of the things I would try to squeeze into one day!

👑 Also, I have to admit, if I were trapped in a Disney movie for a day, I’d be pretty excited to wear some cute clothes. I’d love to wear a big, puffy, Disney princess dress just once to see what it’s like! Also, I’d try on some glass slippers just to see if they are as uncomfortable as they sound. 😉

Well, that’s what I would do if I were trapped in a Disney movie for a day! Let me know what YOU would do!

What I Thought

*I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. A huge thank you to the author, Livy Jarmusch!*

I want to start by saying, I think the best way to describe Regal Hearts: Season One would be fun. The story is filled with so much adventure, and honestly, this book was just so much fun to read!  Also, from the princess aspect, to the ability to be funny and serious at the same time, it definitely gave me Princess Diaries vibes. This made me so happy, because I love those movies, the books, and really, all of Meg Cabot’s writing.

One of my favorite things about this novel were the characters! I admit, a lot of times I get confused quite easily when there are a lot main characters. I find myself mixing up who’s who and who’s friends with whom, and it is just usually hard for me to remember everything. So, I was so pleasantly surprised that that didn’t happen for Regal Hearts. While there are a lot of different characters, they are all so unique with their own, individual personality and style, that even from the first episode I had no trouble keeping everyone straight! My favorite character is probably Eleanor. I love her passion for horses, as well as her honest personality.  I also found Emma, and her love for books, to be so relatable, as well.

Another thing I loved about this book was the overall plot. Y’all this book is such a wild ride! So much happens in these 10 little episodes. I just love how much adventure and discovery takes place!

Something else that I really appreciated about this book was how clean it was, as well as it’s faith-content.  There is some romance, and I’m looking forward to seeing how those relationships grow in season 2, but it’s all very sweet.   It was really refreshing to read a book that, while written for teens+, still felt innocent.

Overall, I really enjoyed Regal Hearts: Season One! I definitely plan on reading season 2 and finding out what happens next! I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a fun adventure book, as well as someone looking for a cleaner alternative to the Princess Diaries books!
