Top Ten Favorite Books Quotes I’ve Read this Year
It’s Top Ten Tuesday again! It’s a weekly bookish list hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl! This week’s topic is:
Favorite Book Quotes I’ve Read this Year
I love quotes! A good quote can really speak to you and stick with you through life. It’s so hard for me to pick favorites, though. So, to give myself less stress, I’ve decided to only include quotes from books I’ve read this year!
So, here we go:
These first two quotes come from Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier, which was my first book of 2019, as well as a 5 star read!
“If only there could be an invention that bottled up a memory, like scent. And it never faded, and it never got stale. And then, when one wanted it, the bottle could be uncorked, and it would be like living the moment all over again.”
“Happiness is not a possession to be prized, it is a quality of thought, a state of mind.”
My next quote comes from Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis. While I didn’t love everything about this book, I thought this quote was very valuable and encouraging!
“Comparison is the death of joy, and the only person you need to be better than is the one you were yesterday.”
Five Feet Apart was such an emotional read for me. This quote, however, focuses more on the importance of strong leadership and being fearlessly yourself!
“She’s bossy.” “Nah, she’s a boss.”
I loved Where the Crawdads Sing so, so much! I already want to reread it. These quotes are only some of the reasons why I loved this book so deeply!
“I wasn’t aware that words could hold so much. I didn’t know a sentence could be so full.”
“That’s what sisters and girlfriends are all about. Sticking together even in the mud, ’specially in mud.”
“Never underrate
the heart,
Capable of deeds
The mind cannot conceive.
The heart dictates as well as feels.
How else can you explain
The path I have taken,
That you have taken
The long way through this pass?”
This quote from Regal Hearts: Season Two is so much fun, and actually holds a lot of truth! 😉🍦
“You do have an ice cream cone in your hand. So, I’d say, in the grand scheme of things, you’re pretty much winning at life.”
These last two quotes come from Daisy Jones and the Six. I did not expect to love this book nearly as much as I did. Even though it’s been almost a month since I finished it, I still think about this book all the time!
“I think you have to have faith in people before they earn it. Otherwise it’s not faith, right?”
“Life is about who is holding your hand and, I think, whose hand you commit to holding.”
And there you have it! Those are some of my favorite quotes I’ve read this year. What are some of yours?
Thanks for reading!

I love that Rachel Hollis quote. It’s so important to remember, and something that I’m constantly forgetting. All of these quotes are great. I also especially love the one from Five Feet Apart 🙂 I’ve gotta read that one still

Thanks! I agree, I’m always forgetting that, too. And yes, Five Feet Apart was such a good book! ☺️

“I am no bird and no net ensnares me; I am a free human being with an independent will.” – Jane Eyre
It’s my favorite quote of all time. If I ever get a tattoo, it will be a silhouette of a bird for this quote.

Ooh I love that quote!! I still need to read Jane Eyre, and every time I hear that quote, it makes me want to read it more. It would make such a good tattoo!!
